The Story Behind the Hunt
Welcome to the new digital home of BlastFromThePastBags! If you’ve found your way here from my , thank you for being part of my journey and following me. If you’re new here: Hi, I’m Dobi, and I am super excited to meet you as a fellow vintage lover! I’m a passionate vintage hunter, a professional "treasure digger," and a firm believer that every item from the past has a second life just waiting to happen. I believe in quality and craftsmanship. I love vintage clothing and accessories that are made to last and endure the decades. I am obsessed with the evergreen classics—those old-time staples that we can incorporate into our wardrobes year after year, reinventing them as time goes by.

Where it All Began
My obsession with vintage fashion didn’t start with a business plan. I am just a "thriftoholic" in progress (I’m not sure if that’s a real word yet, but it’s the most accurate one I have!). In fact, if someone had told me I was going to be a full-time vintage seller, I would have said, “No way", but today it just feels so natural, it's a part of me. The journey started with a feeling—that pleasant tickling in my gut that I’ve had since I was five years old. Every time my mom dropped me off at my grandmother’s apartment, which was full of miracles and vintage treasures, I got that feeling. Every time she allowed me to dig through her jewelry box or let me clack around in her kitten heels, I got that feeling.I was drawn to the weight of a real leather bag, the intricate knit of a mohair sweater, and the stories hidden in the seams of a 70s houndstooth skirt. I felt it again when my mom took me thrifting for the first time in my hometown of Balchik, at the only thrift shop in town. I still get that same feeling today every time I find a vintage gem that I can share with you.

From Varna to Your Wardrobe
I eventually realized that "going vintage" isn't just a style choice; it’s a lifestyle. Once you experience the soul of a piece that has survived decades, modern fast fashion just doesn't feel the same. While I don’t dress in vintage from head-to-toe every single day, I deeply admire the attention to detail put into every piece.Soon after I met my husband, he saw my passion and suggested I start selling my finds online. Having been raised in times of scarcity, my mom and grandmother had kept every single item they ever owned—bags, shoes, and clothes. My very first sales were actually treasures from their own closets! A huge shout-out to my friends Deni and Valjo, who were already running Etsy shops at the time. They helped me open my doors and supported me in those early days. Today, I run BlastFromThePastBags out of beautiful Varna, Bulgaria, sharing curated European vintage fashion pieces with the world. Whether I’m "test-driving" a new arrival or modeling a rare find, I put my heart into ensuring every piece is ready for its next chapter. From Italian leather riding boots to Y2K coquette aesthetics, I only list what I truly adore.

Why This New Website?
Etsy will always be a home for me, but BlastFromThePastBags.com is a space where I can share more than just listings. I can’t wait to help you find your next "favorite thing."
P.S. What is your favorite part of thrifting? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Dobi
